Sponsorship Policy
Purpose
The purpose of this policy is to define how sponsorship funds are solicited, received, distributed, and managed within Warlords Hockey Academy (WHA). This policy ensures transparency, fairness, and consistency while supporting both individual players and team-level programming.
Types of Sponsorships
WHA recognizes two categories of sponsorships:

Individual Player Sponsorship

Team Sponsorship
Each category has a defined purpose and allocation structure.
1. Individual Player Sponsorship
Definition
An Individual Player Sponsorship is a sponsorship secured specifically to support a named player. These sponsorships are intended to assist with that player’s hockey-related expenses for the season.
Use of Funds
Individual sponsorship funds may be applied toward:
Fund Allocation
The association’s portion supports administrative costs, insurance, program operations, and ongoing development initiatives.
Restrictions

Individual sponsorship funds are not refundable

Funds may not be withdrawn as cash

Funds cannot be transferred to another player

Sponsorship does not guarantee roster placement, ice time, or playing status
2. Team Sponsorship
Definition
A Team Sponsorship is a sponsorship secured to support a specific WHA team or program rather than an individual player.
Use of Funds
Team sponsorship funds may be used for:

Team budget shortfalls

Tournament or showcase expenses

Additional ice time or development opportunities

Team equipment, apparel, or approved expenses
Fund Allocation
The association’s portion supports operational costs and ensures consistent program standards across all teams.
Restrictions

Team sponsorship funds are not refundable

Funds do not create individual player credits or refunds

Funds are applied for the benefit of the team as a whole
Sponsorship Management & Oversight

All sponsorship funds must be processed through WHA

WHA reserves the right to approve sponsor suitability

Sponsorship funds will be tracked separately for:

Allocation and use of funds will align with WHA financial policies
Branding & Recognition
Sponsorship recognition (logos, banners, apparel, digital media) must be approved by WHA to ensure alignment with league, facility, and branding guidelines.
Compliance & Governance

Sponsorships must comply with WHA values and conduct standards

WHA reserves the right to decline or terminate sponsorships that conflict with organizational values

Sponsorship does not confer decision-making authority or influence over team operations

By participating in sponsorship activities, players, families, and sponsors acknowledge and agree to the terms outlined in this policy.
